You can purchase travel insurance directly through us while booking or 30 days or more before check-in, depending on the desired insurance plan. Holidays are exciting, but before you book, please check your dates and only select one of the following when making your holiday reservation. If your dates are different from the
following, please contact a reservation agent before booking.
Our holiday dates for 2023 & 2024 are:
• New Year (December 26 – January 2, 2024)
• Easter Week (March 24 – 31, 2024)
• Thanksgiving (November 24 – December 1, 2024)
• Christmas (December 19 – 26, 2024)
• New Year (December 26 – January 2, 2025)
(For any reservations arriving between January 2 – 6 please inquire before making an online booking.)
The cancellation policy does not apply to holiday dates as they are non-refundable.
A 50% deposit must be received upon the time of reservation, the remaining balance needs to be paid 60 days before your arrival. (If the reservation is booked within 60 days before check-in, the transfer should be made in full).
4.SECURITY DEPOSIT & DAMAGE VOUCHER
Please note that prior to check-in, it is necessary to provide a signed credit card voucher and rental contract.The rental security deposit must be submitted 30 days before your scheduled arrival. This deposit will be refunded to the same credit card it was charged from, provided that there are no damages or missing items. In the event that any items are broken, missing, or if any house rules were violated, the corresponding value of these items will be deducted from the security deposit. The credit card voucher will authorize a specific amount to be held on your credit card throughout your stay, which will be released after check-out, excluding any applicable incidentals. The specific hold amount may vary depending on the property, typically ranging between $500, $1000, or $2000. If a security deposit was already collected for the reservation, a hold will not be placed on your credit card.
5. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
All credit card transactions are processed through Vacation Rental Payment (Yapstone). Since all of our transactions are processed remotely, and for your own protection, verification of the credit card holder is required. For all credit card transactions (credit card payment, security deposit, damage voucher) it is required to provide a selfie and a photo of a valid form of identification document of the credit card holder (Examples: Driver's license, passport). The identity verification process is managed by our partner Autohost. In rare cases, our payment processor requires an additional verification step if the transaction is considered of "high risk". This may involve a selfie picture from the guest showing the ID or in person verification at our office right before check-in. Transaction security is of outmost importance for us as well as protection of data.
6.CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in time is between 3pm and 10 pm.
Check-out time is 10 am.
If you would like to request a late check-out or early check-in, please confirm with the Vacation Rentals of Tamarindo team ahead of time to ensure we don`t have any one-day turnovers.
We understand the need for increased flexibility in travel planning right now. To help our valued guests, we offer the following special policy for our Costa Rica vacation rentals & services.
? Please note that cancellations made 31 days or more, prior to arrival will receive a refund equivalent to 80% of their payment. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable unless the dates can be re-rented for the same amount as the original reservation.
? The cancellation policy does not apply to holiday dates as they are non-refundable. Please refer to the paragraph "Holiday Dates".
8.OCCUPANTS & VISITORS
With the exception of guests registered in the original booking number, outside visitors not pre-approved with Vacation Rentals of Tamarindo are not allowed at any time inside the premises.
We are a strictly non-smoking rental. We ask that you not smoke in the house at all. If evidence of smoking, such as the smell of cigarettes inside the home and/or cigarette burns on the furniture, is noticed by the cleaning crew there will be a $500 damage assessment.
We offer a selection of homes that are pet-friendly. Feel free to inquire with our reservations agents about pet-friendly homes. Please note that there is an extra charge for bringing pets to any of our properties.
11.VOLUME & NOISE CONTROL
Our properties are part of beautiful residential neighborhoods where other residents are mutually respectful of each other`s privacy. We ask that you please refrain from having raucous late-night parties and especially from playing loud music or making excessive noise after 10 pm. or before 8 am.
We ask that the occupants take full responsibility for securing their personal belongings. Please lock your valuables whenever leaving the house. Vacation Rentals of Tamarindo is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items..
13.AC, ELECTRICITY & WATER
Vacation Rentals of Tamarindo is an ecologically minded business. We kindly request your adherence to the following energy conservation guidelines: When using the air-conditioning units, please remember to turn them off when not in use and keep usage to a minimum.Before leaving any room, please remember to switch off all lights. By following these guidelines, you contribute to our collective effort in conserving energy and promoting sustainability.
